HOW TO PROTECT YOUR PHOTOS AFTER A SESSION
You’ve completed your session with me and received your gallery!! Yay! Now what?? When you get your gallery I always recommend downloading ALL of the images. You never know when you’re going to look back at them and think “hey I actually like this image of me now”, trust me I’ve done it so many times! We are the harshest critiques on ourselves and your opinion may change after some time. But once you have all of your images, how do you keep them safe?
BACKUPS BACKUPS BACKUPS!
My general rule of thumb is to always have 3 backups of your important digital files and images. I have 2 hard drives, a third hard drive in a fire proof safe, and a cloud based backup to ensure your images are not lost during editing. That may sound a little bit excessive to you, and depending on your needs it may be! But I would rather be safe than sorry!
Online cloud based services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Amazon offer a variety of plans to help best fit your needs (most of them are even free up to a certain amount of storage!).
Flash drives and low storage capacity hard drives are a great budget friendly way to store your images long term. Most range from $20-$50 and can be found at places like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy for easy shopping.
